Located amidst the serene foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges in the picturesque Kangra Valley, Pandit Sant Ram Government Degree College, Baijnath was established in June 2006. On January 4, 2007, the erstwhile G.G.D.S.D. College was merged with it, leading to its present name.

Situated along Mahakal Road, just 1 km from Chobin Chowk (NH-21), 1.5 km from the revered Baijnath Temple, and 16 km from Palampur, the college enjoys a location that is both accessible and culturally rich. Recognized by the UGC under sections 2(f) and 12(b), the college offers undergraduate programs in Humanities, Science, and Commerce under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) across 15 major subjects. Additionally, self-financed professional courses such as BCA, BBA, and B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology have been performing commendably. The college further expanded its academic offerings by introducing postgraduate classes in English, Economics, Hindi, and History.

Serving a largely rural population, the college takes pride in providing quality higher education to students from underprivileged and marginalized backgrounds. The college campus boasts a well-developed infrastructure with spacious classrooms, lecture halls, fully equipped science and computer laboratories, a well-stocked library, reading rooms, a girls’ common room, and a girls’ hostel.

Active student involvement is encouraged through units such as NCC, NSS, Rovers & Rangers, Red Ribbon Club, and Eco Club, all of which promote discipline, leadership, social service, environmental awareness, and communal harmony.

The college has been accredited with a ‘B’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, a testament to its continuous pursuit of academic and institutional growth.
